Innovative Coastal Construction Products

OzziCap was founded by Ozzie Suarez, a skilled builder with a big heart and a strong love for coastal construction. He wanted to make building easier, faster, and more reliable for contractors. His goal was simple: create stronger, longer-lasting products that could stand up to the harsh coastal environment.

Sadly, Ozzie passed away from stage IV pancreatic cancer before he could see his newest project—and his son’s future vision—fully come to life. Even so, his spirit and passion continue to guide everything we do. At OzziCap, we are honored to carry on his legacy and build on the work he started.

Every day, we work hard to bring coastal builders the most dependable products and trusted support possible. We believe your projects deserve the best—because they protect the homes, families, and investments that matter most.

Our Story

Ozzie Suarez was a second-generation home builder, and his son Aviel Suarez earned a professional degree in architecture. Together, they started a small design-build company focused on coastal homes.

Their goal was not just to make homes look beautiful, but to make them strong and long-lasting. They wanted to build at a higher standard—above what most builders are required to do.

While researching new building methods, they discovered fiberglass pilings. At the time, these pilings were mostly used for docks. Ozzie and Aviel saw something bigger: they believed fiberglass pilings could become a better deep foundation system for coastal homes. They contacted the manufacturer, studied the specifications, and tested the idea on a real project.

But there was one major problem—the connection between the pilings and the rest of the house. The first solution, created with help from an engineer, worked but was too complicated and inefficient. So Ozzie and Aviel went back to the drawing board. They designed a stronger, simpler connection that also reinforced one of the weakest parts of a foundation system.

That moment sparked the creation of OzziCap with one clear purpose: to help coastal homes stand stronger against future storms.

The first OzziCap was used on a home in Milford, Connecticut in 2015. It quickly became clear that there was nothing else like it on the market—a single system connecting the three main structural parts of the foundation. Soon after, Ozzie and Aviel began the process of applying for both design and utility patents. Since the process was new to them, it took time—and the patent was officially granted six years later.

After more research, testing, and improvements, they installed the next version of OzziCap on another coastal project in Milford. The product was not officially named until after Ozzie passed away in January 2020. Aviel chose the name OzziCap in honor of his father, so his legacy could live on through every project it protects.

Today, OzziCap offers a growing line of products that help coastal builders work faster, smarter, and—most importantly—build with greater strength and resilience.
